A sumptuous party that lasts for days. Endless dinners and nights dancing merengue under a charcoal sky. Smoke meets flower and spices settle in for the next inhalation. It’s CAFÉ TABAC.
Before it took shape in a bottle, it had a name: CAFÉ TABAC, inspired by the iconic 90s bar in the East Village.
The fragrance opens with sparkling notes of expected (bergamot) and unexpected (apple, tamarind) fruits, but the whole scent is a tribute to tobacco in all its forms. Dry leaves, damp flowers and a lit cigar are represented by clary sage and davana, a hint of mango with dried fig and date, and a raw smokiness with tobacco absolute, tar, cade and cedar wood. An amber accord of cistus and labdanum secretions and sugars, ambergris, oakmoss, vanilla, cocoa accord and Peruvian balsam in the heart gives way to a dark, rich, resinous base.
With CAFÉ TABAC, there’s a mad sensuality that’s like the olfactory equivalent of orange zest on half a cup of Espresso, rich with a touch of freshness and spiciness. To wear it is to maintain a state of heightened emotion that we remember more than we record.
