Corfu Kumquat is a citrus expression that lasts well beyond the moment it is released. A Greek sun-drenched citrus fruit marked by complexity and longevity. A citrus peel exposed to the salty sea air and rugged terrain. A moment of respite and unexpected depth.
Corfu Kumquat takes its name and raw material from the royal Greek island of Corfu. Kumquats proliferate on the island of Corfu. This small, oval-shaped, orange-colored bitter fruit arrived in Greece from China in the 1800s. Today, they are grown mainly on the north coast, made into liqueurs and candies sold on the island where Prince Philip grew up. “In Corfu, you are amazed by the beauty of the island, its architecture and its history,” says Robert Gerstner, co-founder of AEDES DE VENUSTAS. “Empress Elizabeth did not spend months and months there for nothing.
