Familiar figures on the boulevards in Romantic Paris, the ‘grisettes’ were often the little hands of the dressmakers. Their youthfulness, fresh looks and joie de vivre could be accommodated in a simple grey cloth gown, earning them their nickname.
The classic composition opens with an armful of freshly cut roses. Here, for the first time in decades, an alcoholate is used, obtained by macerating the rose concretes. This preserves the most volatile notes, which combine with the grapefruit to create the green sensation of fresh roses. The Grisette fragrance is then enveloped in powdery, woody and spicy notes, before leaving a trail of amber and vanilla.
